How did I get here?

When I mention to people I am a self published Author I receive a mixed reaction, there are the ones that raise their eyebrows in amazement and marvel at the fact that you have achieved the art of putting a book together and there are the other kind who look at you with a glint in their eye, mentally putting pen to paper with the affirmation above their head in a talk bubble “If she can do it so can I.” But the best kind of people are those who have supported and encouraged me along the way which motivates me everyday ( and of course read what I have actually written.) I never intended to write books, it kinda just happened, Even my English teacher would choke on her morning coffee if she knew what I have chosen to do if fact I never knew what I wanted to be in life until I started writing my first novel and now I am a writing nut. I am extremely pleased to have on board such a spelling and grammar nut the very lovely and patient Janine Ogden who works so hard to decode my spelling and grammar and another nut of the upmost tasty kind Libby Reed for her cover design, logo and the telepathic gift she possess to paint the character in exactly the way I see it in my mind.

The first  in the charming series “This Charming Shack” started out as a thriller, with the character “Lisa’ being of a more introverted woman with a sordid past. As I typed away filling in the story line that I had carried around in my head for many years, Lisa’s character developing into the person she actually was meant to be, not someone who is dark and introverted in nature but a woman of substance and light who posses the variousflaws many of us try to hide in the real world.  It was then I that I realized Lisa’s character change had changed the way I felt about writing. I didn’t just want to provide a good storyline anymore my shift became for the readers, and how they would feel after they shut the last page in the book., something that  would leave them with a lasting chuckle or a smile which promotes my personal belief “Life wasn’t meat to be so serious”

Three books on and a fourth in progress (called bare feet) my characters will continue to grow through the many stories I have yet to tell.

I will be posting short stories and snippets from my Novels weekly on word press, Look forward to meeting and sharing with you all. Image
